What are Campaigns?
UserWise campaigns can be seen as an umbrella concept that encompasses all UserWise content pieces (e.g. surveys, offers, events, ...). Campaigns provide the logical grouping for different content pieces that work together to form some action in your game, be it a weekend event, a one-off survey, or anything in-between.
Not only do campaigns provide a logical grouping of content; they also provide a seamless way to schedule, target, and organize for re-use.
Campaigns Calendar View
The campaign calendar provides a clear view into past, present, and upcoming campaigns on a gantt-style timeline. This view allows you to track the cadence of your campaigns, provided a clearer picture of the state of your living game.
Components of the Calendar
Categories
Campaigns can be grouped into custom-defined categories, which are logically separated and color-coded on the calendar.
UTC Current Time Marker
The blue marker on the calendar is the current date and time in UTC.
Timeline Types
There are three possible timeline types (or zoom levels): Days, Weeks, and Months. The select at the top allows you to change the timeline type on the fly.
Search Filter
The search functionality allows you to search for campaigns based on their title and tags.
Managing Campaigns on the Calendar
Campaigns can be deleted, duplicated, and edited by click on one of the campaign bars, or by click the triple-dot icon that appears when hovering over a campaign within the left drawer.
Adding a New Category
New campaign categories can be added by clicking the "Add New Category" button in the upper-left-hand corner of the calendar view. You must provide a label and color for every category and these categories are for all team members.
Campaigns List View
The campaign list view is another view type used when viewing all campaigns in UserWise. The list view allows for easier pagination and filtering of campaigns.
The campaign list view can be used to add new campaigns (by clicking the "Add Campaign" button), and can also be used for campaign duplication, deletion, and editing.
Editing a Campaign
There are three sections to campaign editing: Basic Details, Schedule, & Content.
Basic Details
Here you'll fill out the name, category, description, tags, and segments for the campaign. The only key piece to note is that if no segments are chosen, then all users are selected. If multiple segments are chosen, then a user only needs to be in one of those selected segments.
Schedule
The schedule of your campaign sets the start and (optional) end date and time for your campaign. Any content pieces MUST be started/stopped within the campaign's start and stop.
A campaign can be targeted towards UTC or Player Local timezone.
Content
The content of your campaign is one or more Events, Variables, In-Game Messages, Offers, Surveys, or Polls. These can be created through a similar view as the campaign-level calendar.
